Nicolas Boileau
Research Technician in the group of Walter Salzburger.
Current research
Apart from running the wet lab, I am responsible for our Sanger (AB3130xl Genetic Analyzer) and Ion Torrent (PGM) sequencing platforms. Further, I'm involved in several projects, which deal with various molecular methods:
-Next Generation Sequencing on the PGM platform (long amplicon sequencing of genes involved in vision and sex determination, RNASeq)
-Gene sequencing, phylogenetic analyses and detection of positive selection
-Gene expression assays to investigate the genetic basis of a novel morphological trait
-Molecular diet analysis (barcoding with Sanger sequencing)
