Current Research
I am interested in deciphering the molecular mechanisms that are responsible for the creation and loss of genetic and phenotypic diversity across various taxonomic ranks, from the individual level to populations and broad taxonomic clades. The major focus of my research is to reconstruct the history of present and past populations to assess how much their evolutionary trajectories have been shaped by their environment. My current project investigates the ontogenic and genomic basis of dietary adaptations in Lake Tanganyika cichlids, using both bulk and single-cell transcriptomic data generated from their intestines.
