I am interested in how genomic changes may allow a species to spread thousands of kilometres within only a couple of years. Pieris mannii , the Southern Small White, is an invasive butterfly quickly expanding from Southern to Northern Europe. Building a reference genome will be a first step in finding a possible genomic explanation for this adaptation.
