Transcriptome diversity in Lake Tanganyika cichlids fishes

The general idea of my project is to sequence and compare the transcriptomes of a large panel of cichlids fishes representative of the Lake Tanganyika adaptive radiation. During my PhD, I will go to different locations around the lake to catch my samples. Back in the lab, I will extract RNA, sequence it and compare the expression profiles between different species. This approach will allow me to identify genes that are differentially expressed between species across the phylogenetic tree and that could potentially be involved in speciation.
